On September 23, 2016 United States International Trade Commission (USITC) issued News Release 16-122 announcing the completion of a U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) fact-finding report pertaining to proposed modifications to the U.S.-Chile Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

The proposed modifications, include allowing for use of additional non-originating rayon filament yarns in certain woven fabrics. According to the release, “because U.S. imports from Chile are a small portion of total U.S imports of dyed and yarn-dyed woven fabrics, the likely effect on total U.S. imports of these products is negligible.”
